Bio

Dr. Martin has been a French professor at CSUSB since 2007, having moved to sunny SoCal from the cornfields of east-central Illinois. A bonafide ‘globetrotter,’ she has traveled extensively, especially in North America, Europe and Asia, and is a strong proponent of study abroad. As Faculty Coordinator for the French program and our campus representative for the CSU International Programs, she enjoys helping students pursue their hopes, aspirations, and true potential, and whole-heartedly believes in their creative capacity to change the world!

She is truly passionate about teaching and has held faculty positions in French at several universities, including Georgetown University, George Washington University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on cross-cultural business communication, code-mixing in advertising and localized strategies for global marketing.
