Completion of the eight prerequisite courses (list here) for the Nursing program with the required GPA of ______.
Apply to CSUSB as a transfer student and list Pre-Nursing as your intended major. (You should also select a second-choice major).
Ensure completion of the CSU transfer eligibility requirements, including the Golden Four general education categories (Oral Communication, Written Communication, Critical Thinking, and Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning).
Pre-Nursing Phase
Attend a Pre-Nursing Information Session
Take the TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) exam and achieve a score within the program's requirements
Submit a supplemental application to the Nursing Program, if required
After Admission to Nursing Program
Meet all health clearance, vaccinations, and background check requirements
Attend a mandatory Nursing Program orientation session
Nursing Program Core & Clinical Rotations
Complete core nursing courses (this can include courses in pharmacology, health assessment, pathophysiology, and various clinical practice areas)
Engage in clinical rotations across different healthcare settings
Graduation Requirements
Complete all required nursing courses and clinical hours
Apply for graduation
Post-Graduation Steps
Pass the NCLEX-RN exam to obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse
Consider further education or specialty certifications based on career goals

Health Promotion concentration: All of the eight pre-requisites for the pre-nursing program count toward this program, without using up any of your free electives.
Prepare for careers in physical therapy, physician's assistant, occupational therapy, health educator, health and wellness director, exercise physiologist, athletic training, or physical education teacher
Receive a broad introduction to community health, environmental health, nutrition and health care management
The general Health Science Concentration requires an additional 6 units of upper-division Health Science courses, but allows for 22 units of free electives that can be met by any college-level courses you have taken or would like to take.
