Police militarization topic of next Conversations on Race and Policing
University of Chicago sociologist Julian Go will discuss the colonial roots and racial dynamics of police militarization at the next Conversations on Race and Policing program. The program is free and open to the public and will take place Zoom.
At the Sept. 12 event, visitors explored two exhibitions – “Gathered Here,” honoring the people who shaped RAFFMA, and “To See Through,” curated by CSUSB professor and glass artist Katherine Gray, examining how light, materials and perception influence what we see. Together, the exhibitions enriched the museum’s 30th-anniversary celebration by reflecting on its history while introducing visitors to new artistic perspectives.
