More than 60 Inland Empire high school students participated in two residential programs at CSUSB focused on innovation, leadership and technology.

CSUSB and Cal-SOAP empower future innovators through entrepreneurship and cybersecurity summer camps

Inland Empire high school students explored entrepreneurship and cybersecurity this summer through two immersive programs at Cal State San Bernardino. The WITH (Workforce Innovation Technology Hubs) Cyber Camp and UpStarters Discovery Camp gave students the opportunity to experience college life while developing technical and leadership skills.

Herb Brunkhorst taught biology at CSUSB for 24 years. A nationally and internationally recognized leader in STEM education, Brunkhorst was revered as a “patient and kind mentor with STEM faculty throughout the CSU campuses” and a “model of dedication, passion, and humanity.”

Stephen Lehigh, a CSUSB English lecturer, taught literature, digital humanities and social justice courses while advancing cross-campus online education throughout the California State University system. He passed away recently in an accident while camping on the East Coast.

Cal State San Bernardino students are the beneficiaries of an effort by AT&T and HUMAN-I-T to provide 100 refurbished laptops, filling an important technological need. The laptops and backpacks will be made available through CSUSB’s Basic Needs & Student Support department.
