State funding will modernize CSUSB’s aging science building

A $1.5 million state investment will modernize HVAC controls at CSUSB’s 1968 Biological Sciences Building, improving campus facilities for students, faculty and researchers across classrooms and laboratories.

CSUSB received a five-year, nearly $5 million U.S. Department of Labor grant to establish the Science Career Success Center, expanding support for STEM and allied health students from community college transfer through careers and advanced study.

CSUSB has received a five-year, nearly $5 million U.S. Department of Labor grant to establish the Science Career Success Center (SC²), building on two previous federal awards supporting STEM student success. Through the PATHWAYS initiative, students will receive coordinated advising, research opportunities, internships, and preparation for graduate and professional programs.

Selected as one of just 50 interns from thousands of applicants nationwide, CSUSB graduate Tyra Webb gained hands-on experience in Hollywood through the Television Academy Foundation's highly competitive internship program. Faculty mentorship, career resources and hands-on experiences at CSUSB helped prepare her for this opportunity, giving her the skills and confidence to pursue a career in Hollywood.
