CSUSB’s Summer Algebra Institute builds math skills and college confidence
Seventy-four students in grades 8-10 explored algebra, engineering and college life through CSUSB’s sixth annual Summer Algebra Institute. Hosted by CSUSB’s Cal-SOAP, the program combined personalized math instruction with hands-on projects and field trips designed to build confidence and prepare students for academic success.
Guillermo Escalante, associate dean of student success and enrollment management and director of strategic partnerships, has been elected president of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, one of the world’s leading organizations in sports nutrition, exercise science and human performance.
CSUSB’s Department of Nursing, in partnership with the College of Extended and Global Education, welcomed 15 students from Chang Gung University of Science and Technology in Taiwan for a four-week Nursing Immersion Program at Cal State San Bernardino, featuring coursework, clinical learning and cultural exchange.
Students gathered at the Santos Manuel Student Union North Conference center on Aug. 19 for the New Student Orientation Dinner to meet the school’s faculty and each other.
