
Marketing students at Cal State San Bernardino successfully planned and executed two events, the 16th Annual Spring Classic Golf Tournament and CSUSB Night at the Inland Empire 66ers game, raising funds for scholarships while gaining real-world experience in event planning.

Justus Baker-Postell, the Outstanding Undergraduate Student, and Monica Ybanez, the Outstanding Graduate Student, will be honored at the college’s commencement ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Toyota Arena in Ontario.

Jennifer Alford (geography and environmental studies) is the 2024-25 Golden Apple Award recipient; Thomas Chapman (cybersecurity) discussed credit card security; Justin Schneider (nursing) was interviewed about the Nursing Peer Mentoring Program; and Jonathan Dubois (anthropology adjunct) was interviewed about hawk symbolism.

Student volunteers with CSUSB’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program prepared more than 200 tax returns this season for underserved individuals and families, securing more than $227,000 in refunds and critical tax credits for the community.

The tour offered students from CSUSB’s Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the resort's dynamic operations while creating opportunities to network with over 40 professionals across various departments.

The agreement aims to support innovation and job growth in the Inland Empire. The partnership will offer students more opportunities for internships, research and hands-on learning.
