
New and returning students learned about academic tradition and campus life at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus at the event held Sept. 1.

Convocation will feature highlights from last year, the goals and challenges for the upcoming year along with announcements of the President’s Special Achievement and Outstanding Employee award winners.

CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales delivered the keynote address, sharing campus achievements and advice for students during the Aug. 26 event.

“The way we operate as a university will not look entirely the same as during our pre-pandemic days. However, the fact we will once again be able to interact face-to-face this fall, without a screen in between us, is a cause for celebration,” said CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales.

The formal kick-off at the Palm Desert Campus for the 2020-21 academic year took place on Aug. 27. CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales, now entering his ninth year leading the university, delivered the keynote address.

“As we begin this, our 54th year as an institution of higher education, it is exciting to know that we continue to grow and develop to meet the needs of our students and our community,” CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales said.

Ten alumni from the Class of 1969 returned to their alma mater at Cal State San Bernardino to celebrate their golden anniversary.
