The Cal State San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus hosted its 8th Annual Student Convocation on Aug. 26 to welcome students, faculty, staff and distinguished members of the campus administration to the 2021-2022 academic year.

New and returning students learned about academic tradition and campus life.

CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales delivered the keynote address, sharing campus achievements and advice for students. Other speakers included Shari McMahan, provost and vice president for academic affairs; Paz Olivérez, vice president for student affairs; Jake Zhu, dean of the Palm Desert Campus; Daisy Ramos, president of Associated Students Inc.; and David Garcia, PDC student speaker.
 
Following the ceremony, the Rancho Mirage Student Center hosted a Welcome Back Picnic on the front lawn for attendees.

The CSUSB Palm Desert Campus offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees, a doctorate in educational leadership, and teaching credentials and certificates.
