Provost Rafik Mohammed welcomes San Bernardino high school seniors to CSUSB’s Instant Admit Days event.

Approximately 600-700 high school seniors from the San Bernardino City Unified School District visited the Cal State San Bernardino campus on Nov. 12-13 for Instant Admit Days, an event that provided students with on-the-spot admission decisions and a first-hand look at university life.

Led by Bibiana Diaz, associate professor of Spanish, and Johanna Smith, professor of theatre arts, 18 CSUSB students, alumni, faculty and staff immersed themselves in the rich culture and history of Peru and the Incan Empire in the spring of 2024.

From March 30-April 8, a group of 18 CSUSB students, alumni, faculty and staff immersed themselves in the rich culture and history of Peru. For those considering a study abroad program, participant and alumna, Melissa Osorio, advised, "Give yourself the opportunity to travel. It’s life-changing. Don’t worry if you’ve never traveled or if perhaps you don’t know anyone, you will be surrounded by kindhearted and friendly people. We all help each other out.”

“I’m grateful that I was able to attend CSUSB,” said Brenda Angel ’18, artist and alumna of CSUSB’s College of Arts and Letters. “Now I’m able to continue a career in art because of the education I received.”

The CSUSB kinesiology team outshined the competition by showcasing their expertise in categories, such as anatomy, biomechanics, exercise physiology and sports nutrition.

For the first time in university history, a CSUSB kinesiology team has won first place in the 14th annual Southwest Student Jeopardy Bowl. Competing against 24 teams from universities across the country, CSUSB’s team claimed the top prize and will advance to the Student Bowl Competition at the national American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Annual Meeting.
