All that’s left is to cut the ribbon.

The work that began in November 2024 to improve the University Parkway-Intestate 215 interchange is all but done, with traffic now flowing to and from Cal State San Bernardino and the surrounding area.

To celebrate, the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) and Caltrans will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday, May 1, on the lawn in front of the John M. Pfau Library, about a mile north of the newly built diverging diamond interchange.

The work was done by the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority and the city of San Bernardino, in cooperation with Caltrans District 8, and is aimed at decreasing traffic congestion, reducing delays and improving freeway access to Interstate 215 at University Parkway.

For more information on the project, visit the SBCTA website for the I-215 University Parkway project. Also, visit the SCBTA Plan. Build. Move webpage on future transportation improvement projects in the region and follow the Caltrans8 Instagram page for current and upcoming construction and other news for commuters.

The SBCTA team is available by phone (877-55-SBCTA) or email (info@goSBCTA.com) and is committed to responding within 24 hours.
