
Cal State San Bernadino will hold a candlelight vigil on campus on Tuesday, Oct. 10 from 4-6:30 p.m. to celebrate the life of student Jordyn Rivera, who was killed during the attack in Las Vegas last week.

About 400 people gathered at CSUSB on Oct. 10 to celebrate the life of student Jordyn Rivera, who was one of 58 people killed in a mass shooting during a country music festival in Las Vegas.

Academics from throughout Latin America and other parts of the world will gather for the 52nd annual Latin American Commission for Administration Schools, known by its acronym in Spanish, CLADEA.

The Cal State San Bernardino Career Center hosted an intensive two-day preconference to prepare about 40 students planning to attend the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities 31st annual national conference.

The conference, “Breaking the Mold: Anticipating the Challenges of Local Education,” will be held in Riverside through Thursday, Oct. 19.

Project Rebound, the campus-based re-entry program for the formerly incarcerated that assists them as students at Cal State San Bernardino, will host an orientation on Tuesday, Oct. 24, for those interested in participating in the program.

More than 200 people ran or walked in the second annual Run Like A Mother 5K at Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday, Oct. 21, which this year was held in memory of slain student Jordyn Rivera.

CSUSB and the Universidad Pedagogica y Tecnologica de Columbia have signed a memorandum of understanding created to boost joint areas of interest that include student exchange programs, teacher exchange programs and research studies.

The contract’s funding of more than $1.6 million will allow CBA to significantly increase its programming inside California state prisons, expanding its partnerships with other CSU campuses and growing jobs in the region.

CSUSB’s DREAMers Resource and Success Center celebrated its second year anniversary on Nov. 2 and announced its new name: The Undocumented Students Success Center.

More than 500 academic administrators, professors and students from around the world attended the annual CLADEA event.

CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales will host the Riverside Mayor’s Educational Roundtable on Nov. 15. CSUSB is the only college/university outside the city of Riverside represented in this group.
