CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales joins his fellow California State University presidents, administrators and state legislators in showing their support of the CSU system through the #CHOOSECSU campaign.
The push for legislative support is a result of Gov. Jerry Brown's 2017-18 budget proposal released in January that allocated less than half of the additional $324.9 million in state funding the CSU system needs, leaving a $167.7 million shortfall.
Until the final state budget is released in June, state lawmakers are hearing from various CSU stakeholders about why they should prioritize and choose the CSU’s full budget request.
The #ChooseCSU campaign was created to support these efforts via social media by spreading the positive impact that the system has on the state and stakeholders — supporting the case that the CSU is worthy of being a top budget priority for the state.
