Cal State San Bernardino is helping address the growing need for speech-language pathologists in the Inland Empire with the launch of its bachelor of arts in Speech-Language Pathology program this fall and plans to introduce a master's degree program in fall 2028.
CSUSB is the first public university in the region to offer a bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology, creating new educational opportunities for students interested in careers helping people overcome communication challenges and improve their quality of life.
The bachelor's program prepares students for graduate study and careers in healthcare, education and related fields. Through coursework, hands-on service-learning and research opportunities, students learn about speech, language, hearing, cognitive and swallowing disorders, with an emphasis on serving the Inland Empire's diverse communities.
Students in the program can also participate in faculty-led research, attend professional conferences and connect with peers through CSUSB's chapter of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association.
Prospective students are invited to learn more about the programs during two upcoming information sessions:
- Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology: Monday, Nov. 9, at noon on Zoom.
- Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology: Monday, Nov. 16, at noon on Zoom.
