Elizabeth Musgrove, the chief of Student Services for the California Department of Rehabilitation and an alumna of Cal State San Bernardino, returned to her alma mater recently to see first firsthand the university’s disability inclusion efforts and resources for Indigenous students, as well as reconnect with faculty from her time as a student.

Musgrove, who earned her bachelor’s in psychology in 2006 and master’s in rehabilitation counseling in 2009, came to campus to learn more about the university’s efforts to include and serve students who are intersectionally diverse, first-generation, Indigenous, disabled and/or neurodivergent learners.

She met with counselors with Services to Students with Disabilities (SSD), along with Meigan Karraker, SSD director, and Jess Block Nerren, CSUSB Faculty Disability Inclusion Fellow. She also spent time with two of her psychology professors, Eugene Wong and David Chavez, and met with faculty of the Rehabilitation Counseling Program, housed in the James R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education.
