CSUSB’s Office of Black Student Success, in collaboration with the Black Faculty, Staff and Student Association, will host the second annual Black Faculty Promotion and Awards Celebration on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 3-5 p.m. at the Obershaw Dining Room in the Alumni Center.

The event will recognize the hard work, dedication and professional accomplishments of Black faculty and staff at Cal State San Bernardino. It also underscores the importance of diversity in higher education and the value of representation in fostering student success.

This year’s honorees include:

  • Annika Anderson: Professor of sociology, department chair, and executive director of Project Rebound.
  • Nicole Henley: Professor of health science and human ecology and interim department chair.
  • Kristi Papailler: Professor of theatre arts.
  • Reneisha Wilkes: EOP Renaissance Scholars Program coordinator, lecturer in the Office of Academic Success & Undergraduate Advising, and recipient of the Outstanding Professional Advisor Award.

Attendees will welcome new faculty, build connections across campus, and celebrate the diversity that makes up Cal State San Bernardino. The event aims to strengthen professional networks while highlighting how Black faculty and staff contributions benefit CSUSB students.

Light refreshments will be provided. The Black Faculty Promotion and Awards Celebration is open to campus and community members, as well as the families of the honorees. RSVP to the event on the Black Faculty Promotion and Awards Celebration online form.
