Pfau Endowed Professor of Psychology, department chair of psychology and Faculty Affiliate of the Center on Aging at CSUSB — was interviewed for the personal finance website’s article about the best places for retirees. While finances are important, Shultz said, “The preparation and thought that needs to go in to not just ‘retiring from’ a job or career, but what do you want to ‘retire to’ in retirement.”

Bob Miller receives distinguished honor

Yucaipa’s newest city councilmember, Bob Miller, was recently honored as an outstanding educator by the Inland Empire Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (IE ASPA). Miller, a faculty member in California State University, San Bernardino’s public administration program, was recognized for his excellence in teaching, mentorship, and public service.
The initial headline erroneously said the honor was from CSUSB.

David Yaghoubian, a professor of history at California State University in San Bernardino, said Iran’s soft power has grown after the 12-day war as a result of actions by its government and diplomats and contrasted Iranian conduct with that of Israel and U.S. supporters.

Yawen Li (social work) coauthored a study focusing on adult day centers (ADC) that work with persons living with dementia (PLWD). The From the abstract: “This study explores PLWD’s firsthand perspectives on their ADC experiences, using Kitwood’s (1997) person-centered dementia care framework which identifies five key psychological needs: inclusion, attachment, comfort, occupation, and identity.”
