In an effort to encourage ride-sharing, Cal State San Bernardino is offering various free bus transportation options throughout the Inland region, Victorville and the High Desert, and the Coachella Valley to its students, faculty and staff.

Those services include:

  • Omnitrans GoSmart Program – Provides free bus services on all Omnitrans buses throughout the Inland Empire;
  • Victor Valley Transit Authority – Provides free bus services on all VVTA buses throughout the High Desert including the 15 B-V Route, which stops at the CSUSB campus;
  • SunLine Haul Pass program – Provides free bus services on all Sunline buses throughout the Coachella Valley; and
  • 10 Commuter Link Bus – Provides free bus services on a weekday route, and connects CSUSB with its Palm Desert Campus.

“By leveraging the partnerships we have with the three regional transit agencies, Parking and Transportation Services has spearheaded the mission of providing free transit options to the campus community,” said Grace Munyiri, director, CSUSB Parking and Transportation Services. “These initiatives align with the campus goals of enhancing student, faculty and staff success by eliminating the high cost of car ownership and promoting sustainability by reducing our carbon footprint. Taking transit is less stressful and cheaper as you eliminate fuel and parking fees and get to contribute to a sustainable environment- it’s a win-win for all!”

CSUSB Transportation Services works to reduce traffic congestion and increase mobility by encouraging alternate modes of transportation and offers rewards to eligible participants through their various incentive programs. Anyone using any form of alternative transportation is eligible for an incentive. They also offer free exclusive CSUSB carpool matching and vanpool coordination services.

When you share the ride, everyone benefits: your community, the environment, your car and your wallet.
