Cal State San Bernardino remains committed to helping students graduate sooner and increase graduation rates. The university has indicated that additional financial aid is available for students, including a year round Pell Grant. CSUSB will also continue funding a specially created Graduation Initiative Grant that will pay for up to 12 units of summer tuition.

The CSUSB Graduation Initiative Grant was created at the direction of university President Tomás D. Morales in response to the California State University’s Graduation Initiative 2025, the system’s plan to increase graduation rates and eliminate the achievement gap for the university’s 475,000 students across its 23 campuses.

“CSUSB students are positioned to fill the numerous jobs available within our region upon completion of their degrees. We are encouraging our students to commit their summer to achieving the goal of degree completion. We remain committed to our students to help them graduate sooner and in a timely basis,” Morales said. “Attending summer session will ultimately save them thousands of dollars, reducing their student debt and get them closer to employability.”

“Additional financial aid beyond the aid available during the academic year is available to qualifying students and a year round Pell Grant may be available. Last year over 3,700 students enrolled and took advantage of summer session,” said Tatiana Karmanova, dean of the university’s College of Extended Learning.

Additional details regarding the grant and eligibility criteria can be found at the Summer Session website at www.csusb.edu/summer.

Registration for summer session opens May 7, 2018, and students are encouraged to register early.
