Top five films: Best of the big screen at Australian film fest includes ‘1948, Creation and Catastrophe’The Sydney Morning Herald In a listing of its top five films shown at various venues in Australia, the newspaper included “1948, Creation and Catastrophe,” which was co-produced and co-directed by Ahlam Muhtaseb, CSUSB professor of communication studies. The film was shown at the Palestinian Film Festival. The listing read: “Straightforward in style but dense with information, Andy Trimlett and Ahlam Muhtaseb's documentary on the partition of Palestine and the subsequent Arab-Israeli War incorporates often harrowing firsthand testimony from both sides. Essentially, however, this is the story from the Palestinian perspective – which in itself is worth the attention of anyone who wants to understand the world today.” Read the complete article at “Top five films: Best of the big screen.”
