Expand Your Scholarship Search

Off-campus scholarships are provided by external organizations not directly affiliated with CSUSB — community organizations, private companies, religious groups and more. While numerous opportunities are available, successfully finding and applying for these scholarships requires time, organization and persistence. The more scholarships you apply for, the greater your chances of being awarded financial assistance.

Disclaimer:

If you receive an outside scholarship — including booster club awards, local scholarships or an athletic award — you must report it to the Financial Aid Office within 30 days of receiving it. This applies to all CSUSB students, including student-athletes.

Outside scholarships can affect your individual or team scholarship limits and your overall eligibility. Even if the funds come directly from the awarding organization, you're still required to report them to both the Financial Aid Office and the Compliance Office, so your account stays accurately tracked and your aid or eligibility isn't affected.

How to report: Submit a copy of your scholarship award letter or email it to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships within 30 days of receipt. You can drop it off in person at University Hall-120, or upload it online through the Financial Aid and Scholarships Document Upload Tool.

Scholarship Search Engines

Scholarship Search Engines can help you find opportunities that match your background and interests — you build a profile, and the engine alerts you to scholarships that fit. Listed below are just a few examples:

  • FastWEB is one of the largest scholarship search engines on the Internet. It provides access to a searchable database of more than 275,000 private sector scholarships, fellowships, grants, and student loans available to students.
  • The Scholarships.com provides a free college scholarship search and financial aid information. It assists parents and students in obtaining scholarship awards for college and in exploring all financial aid you may be eligible to receive. It also provides information and resources of local, state, and national scholarships and grant opportunities, in addition to the Federal and private loan options for funding a college education.
