Dr. Kudlick is the retired director of the Longmore Institute, a leading disability studies center within the CSU system that until its closure in 2025 served as a model for disability-affirming work at CSUSB. [Can cut if you need space: She is fascinated by the places where bodies, disability, medicine and gender come together.] In her scholarship and creative writing she seeks to understand how disability is part of ordinary rather than extraordinary experiences. She's best known for her essay "Disability History: Why We Need Another Other" in _The American Historical Review_ and other essays at the intersection of disability and medical history.
