“Sundown Towns: Confronting a Racially Exclusionary Practice”

In this panel, Dr. Mary Texeira, Professor Emeritus of Sociology, will provide an overview of the history of sundown towns in the United States. Special guest Tara Peterson, CEO of YWCA Glendale, will discuss her successful efforts in working with the City of Glendale to acknowledge publicly its historical contributions to racism.
