The College of Education is developing a series of Heritage Month presentations celebrating our diversity while learning ways in which we can provide culturally responsive educational training. As the Asian-Pacific American Heritage month is approaching we will be conducting a presentation on home language practices for bilingual children with autism spectrum disorders. Our speakers represent our Special Education and Teacher Education programs as well as the Department of Nursing. Please save the date for this upcoming event. A brief description of the presentation:

The speakers for this presentation specialize in education, research and work with bilingual children with autism spectrum disorders. This This webinar will discuss how professional advice influences Korean immigrant mothers’ decision-making on home language practices for their children with autism spectrum disorder. The speakers will share cultural implications for practitioners in early intervention and early childhood special education.
