Meet the Team

Jacob Macias – Photographer & Videographer

Jacob Macias Shot by Jacob Macias

Jacob is the units go-to photographer and videographer, bringing over five years of freelance experience and a published body of work to the team. His background spans from a wide range of creative fields, allowing him to adapt easily to any environment.

Outside the unit, Jacob shoots for both local and larger-scale artists, works with clothing and jewelry brands and produces studio photography for models and musicians. He’s also experienced in event coverage, photographing everything from parties and raves to more formal events.

In our unit, Jacob oversees all photo-related projects. He documents every event hosted by the Radio, including live band and artist performances, and takes portraits of team members to keep the website and blog visuals up to date.

Beyond the camera, Jacob has a wide range of interests. He’s a massive pro wrestling fan—occasionally captures wrestling shows himself—loves all kinds of music, considers himself a foodie, is a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan, and enjoys playing video games. That mix of passions gives him a sharp eye for culture, movement, and storytelling, which carries through in his work.

Danyel Smith – Graphic Designer & Social Media Lead

With around four years of design experience, Danyel brings both professionalism and creativity to everything she touches. Before joining our unit, she came from a background of interning in the design field which shows in the polished work she produces today.

At our unit, she designs graphics for our sponsors, oversees promotional visuals for our Cal Talks program, and helps make sure our branding stays consistent across platforms. She is also involved in Coyote Chronicle where she helps produce our school's newspaper. Occasionally she creates video content for social media, adding motion and storytelling to our online presence.

Outside of work, Danyel’s creativity doesn’t slow down. She’s into video games like Marvel Rivals, Five Nights at Freddy’s, loves music, works out, and creates art just for fun. That mix of discipline and play shows up in her designs—balancing professionalism with personality.

Sergio Venegas - Graphic Designer

Sergio has been graphic designing for about six years and it shows. With a strong command of Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and other design tools, he brings a high level of skill and versatility to our unit.

Before joining our unit, Sergio worked at a print shop, where he learned many of the technical and creative skills he uses today. Now, he designs graphics, logos, and promotional flyers for the unit—and at times jumps behind the camera to take photos for social media and content creation.

Outside of design, Sergio is deeply into music, loves retro games, and is often seen skating from class to class. He also enjoys drinking coffee. Sergio brings a creative, rad energy that reflects in his work.
