History

Women are the backbone of society, as we honor these women, we acknowledge the patience and resilience they have endured to achieve the concept of basic human rights and form of gender equality. The commemoration of this monthly celebration was derived from the late nineteenth century when First-wave feminism was introduced. This encouraged the public on legal issues of allowing women to secure the right to vote which really set structure on history by implementing these new forms of rights to apply to all citizens during the women's suffrage movement. Throughout history, the role of women in our society has endured a significant sense of stability and progress for the long term development of nations.

Values

Women have cultivated a loving environment of values that are ingrained in who they are now through their many positions, which shines an inspirational light on how they conduct themselves in daily life. The significant advancements within education, leadership, and representation reflects the inclusive empowerment of women's contributions which faces the true fundamental equal opportunities they’ve seeked.  The most admirable traits that women never hesitate to uphold are their loving and sympathetic natures. They place a high importance on living one's own life, as this is a woman's greatest strength.

Influential Leaders at CSUSB

Influential role models can collectively inspire individuals from those significant characteristics that are being voiced in big communities.

Here at CSUSB, our Associated Students Incorporated fellow Executive Vice President, Julia Josephine Ruiz, a fourth year kinesiology major with a minor in diversity and social justice, shared her exceptional day to day life experience when it comes to taking initiative and advocating for practical goals like equity, diversity and fairness across campus. She is widely admired for her outstanding efforts to positively transform Native American and Indigenous communities. Ruiz stated,”Authenticity is vital when navigating the game of politics and making those identities in between a balance of professional and leadership skills” outlining the key principles of staying loyal to who you are, understanding your personal narrative, and figuring out how to apply it to both yourself and your significant influence.

The CSUSB’s Black Student Union’s fellow President, Nautiqua Jones, a fourth year kinesiology major shared her beautiful qualities she uses to maintain her significant authority within the work ethic when conducting meetings or events. Jones states,”Keeping rational perspectives, open mindedness that is being taken into account is what’s truly better for the students on campus. Being the direct voice, always taking feedback can really make a difference for the greater good of always wanting better for the academic community” highlighting the significant qualities it takes to motivate the community while advocating for those direct decisions can really inspire others by utilizing those characteristics to continue to build a stronger version of yourself.

We honor these two significant influential female leaders and their admirable work here at California State University, San Bernardino.
