Children’s Center

Program Mission

It is the mission of the Children’s Center to provide an exemplary preschool and childcare program to the students, staff, faculty, and surrounding community of CSUSB.  We provide high quality education and childcare to children aged 3 through Kindergarten in a nurturing, developmentally-appropriate learning environment that recognizes individual strengths and supports the positive growth of children and families regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or developmental level. We also strive to serve as a hands-on learning environment and/or employment opportunity for college students and as a model and educational resource for the campus academic community and the community at large.

During the summer, we also provide a school age program for children ages 6-12. The program typically runs from the end of June through August.

NAEYC Accreditation

The Children’s Center has been accredited through the National Association for the Education for Young Children (NAEYC) since May 2009. NAEYC is the nation’s largest organization of early childhood educators.  Accreditation involves a comprehensive process of internal self-study and improvement.

A high quality early childhood program provides a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children.  For more information about NAEYC accreditation, please visit the NAEYC accreditation website.
