Pups (3-year-olds)

Children in our Pups classroom are generally 3-4 years of age, however, they can begin as young as 2 years, 9 months as long as they are fully potty trained. In this classroom, there is a 1:8 teacher to child ratio with a max group size of 16.

Children's Center definition of toilet trained: A fully toilet trained child can do the following:

  1. Be able to tell an adult they have to go to the bathroom before they have to go.
  2. Be able to pull down their underwear and pants and get them back up without assistance.

Occasional accidents (i.e., once a week/every two weeks) are understandable —especially when a child first starts the program, but accidents on a regular basis (more than once per week) means the child is technically not fully toilet trained.

The Pups classroom offers children room for quiet activities and stories, dramatic play, science activities, and tables for creative and discovery activities. The children follow a group schedule that allows for active exploration of their indoor and outdoor environments.
