SAIL is a free federal TRIO program at CSUSB for undergraduate students who meet at least one of these criteria: you are a first-generation college student (neither parent earned a bachelor's degree), you come from a low-income household, or you have a documented disability. You also need to be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and be a current or incoming CSUSB undergrad. If you check even one of those boxes, you're likely eligible to talk to us, and we'll confirm it together.
Start by filling out the SAIL Interest Form for 2026-27, available on our website's home page or Interest List page. Once we receive it, a staff member will reach out to confirm your eligibility and walk you through the next steps. The process is simple: no essays, no complex forms. Just your basic info and a short set of questions about your goals.
Tip: Spots are limited! SAIL has a waitlist, so the sooner you apply, the better your chances of getting in this semester.
