Bio

Raisa Fernanda Alvarado, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Communication and Media at California State University, San Bernardino. Her current research and teaching specializations are rooted in critical gender studies with a focus on Latine and Chicana/o/x Rhetorical Criticism, Feminist Media Studies, and the Rhetoric of Social Movements. 

Dr. Alvarado serves on the inaugural editorial board of Communication and Race and is currently serving on the executive board of the Rhetorical Theory and Communication Division of the National Communication Association. Most recently, Dr. Alvarado was nominated Vice President for the Organization for Feminist Research on Gender and Communication (OFRGC).
