Bio

Dr. Mark Miller is the Low Brass Applied Faculty and Interim Symphonic Band Director at Cal State San Bernardino. He is the Bass Trombonist for the San Luis Obispo Symphony and has performed with orchestras all over California, including the San Diego Symphony, Fresno Philharmonic, Monterey Symphony, and the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Miller earned his Doctorate in Bass Trombone Performance from the University of Southern California. He also has an MM in Trombone Performance from USC and a BA in Music from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

His conducting credentials include the Shh!..The Library Musical at Pasadena City College in the Summer of 2023 and Dr. Miller was the assistant band director at Pasadena City College and conducted the Cal State Los Angeles Symphonic Band on multiple occasions. Dr. Miller, a Southern California native, is in demand as a teacher and clinician across California. In addition to CSUSB Dr. Miller is the adjunct Trombone instructor for Claremont Graduate University and Pasadena City College, where he also works with the Tournament of Roses Honor Band that performs in every Rose Parade on New Years Day. 

Besides teaching and performing, Mark has a busy career as an Orchestra Librarian. He currently is the librarian for the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra and Redlands Symphony Orchestra.
