Mariam Betlemidze

Mariam Betlemidze, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB). She takes pride in advising CSUSB independent student newspaper, Coyote Chronicle, and serving Faculty Senate. New materialism, poststructural media theory, social change, and multimedia journalism are her areas of interest. Before her graduate academic career, Dr. Betlemidze worked as a journalist in her home country of Georgia, as well as neighboring countries of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Turkey. She is a co-founded non-profit media organization, GO Group Media, and JAM News reporting stories primarily in the South Caucasus.
