Kelly Smith

Hello! I am a Lecturer and Advanced Practicum Coordinator in the Department of Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies (CAFS) at California State University, San Bernardino, and adjunct faculty at San Bernardino Valley College. I am also a proud CSUSB alum — go Yotes!

 

I was born and raised in the Inland Empire and am passionate about giving back to the community that helped shape who I am today. As a first-generation college student, I understand the challenges and opportunities of navigating higher education, and I am committed to supporting students as they work toward their personal, academic, and professional goals.

 

My professional background includes teaching in infant and toddler laboratory classrooms, mentoring practicum students, guiding and supporting students in their professional growth, and building community internship partnerships. I strive to create inclusive, relationship-based learning environments where students feel supported, valued, and encouraged to connect theory to real-world experiences. I also enjoy facilitating professional development workshops and helping students build confidence and meaningful connections within the field of child and family studies.
