Bio

Dr. Ezekiel Bonillas has a versatile entrepreneurial background in banking, higher education, consulting, and economic development.

After receiving a Doctorate in 2022 at Case Western Reserve University, he joined CSUSB’s School of Entrepreneurship as an Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship.

Dr. Bonillas currently serves on the Governing Board of Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA. He also serves his community as member of The Desert Sun's Editorial Board--a regional newspaper in print and digital editions affiliated with USA Today. In addition, Dr. Bonillas is part of Latino’s in Philanthropy through Eisenhower Health Foundation's Board--supporting Eisenhower Medical Center through fundraising. Dr. Bonillas is also an avid support of Latino Entrepreneurs and serves as board member for Get In Motion Entrepreneurs, a non-profit organization supporting economic opportunities in Latino communities through entrepreneurship. 

Ezekiel formally served as Director of Economic Development for the 29 Palms Band of Mission Indians, leading the tribe’s efforts to diversify economic holdings and improve operational efficiencies. In addition, he worked with the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership as VP of Entrepreneurship and Director of the Small Business Development Center, developing innovative programs to serve minority-owned enterprises. He founded Prospera Business Consulting in 2009, advising entrepreneurs in U.S., Mexico and France in various business life stages after an early career in banking and small business ownership.

Dr. Bonillas was awarded Outstanding Lecturer in 2021 at CSUSB's Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration, Amberieu-en-Bugey’s Medal of Honor in 2017, past Palm Springs Life 40 under 40 honoree, U.S. Small Business Administration awardee, and is fellow at Fowlers Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit at the Weatherhead School of Management.
