Bio

Ashley Ward is a dynamic Public Health professional leading the County of San Bernardino in preparedness and response efforts for public health emergencies.  Ashley oversees comprehensive emergency planning, policy guidance, and the development of trainings and exercises for the Department of Public Health- Preparedness and Response Program.  Her role as the Supervising Medical Emergency Planning Specialist and Pandemic Influenza and Bioterrorism Coordinator for the County comes with much responsibility, as she is the designated Department Operations Center (DOC) Director and/or Operations Section Chief to lead the Department in emergency system activations.

As a part-time lecturer in the Department of Health Science and Human Ecology, Ashley is able to join her two passions of public health emergency preparedness and teaching.  She feels her career in emergency management enhances her teaching abilities, as she is able to teach from first hand real world experiences in the field of public health.
