Bio
I am a dedicated public health professional and educator with over 15 years of experience in health education, program coordination, and academic leadership. I currently serve as the MPH Program Director and BS Public Health Program Coordinator at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), where I oversee accreditation efforts, curriculum development, student internships, and stakeholder engagement. In addition, I have served as the College of Natural Sciences Assessment Coordinator and Health Science and Human Ecology Assessment Coordinator, leading assessment initiatives, accreditation preparations, and continuous program improvement across multiple programs.
Since 2011, I have been a Lecturer in Health Science and Human Ecology at CSUSB, teaching a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Public Health Foundations, Social Determinants of Health, Drug and Alcohol Issues, Program Planning, and Health and Human Sexuality. I am passionate about preparing the next generation of public health professionals through applied learning, mentorship, and community engagement.
My professional background includes extensive public health practice with the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health, where I worked as a Health Education Specialist focusing on environmental health, reproductive health, and STD prevention. I coordinated community intervention programs, developed culturally appropriate health education materials, implemented evidence-based interventions, and served as a preceptor for CSUSB BS Public Health students. I also gained experience in prevention education at Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties and in wellness promotion at the General Nutrition Center.
I earned my Master of Public Health (MPH) in Community Health Education (2011) and Bachelor of Science in Health Science with a concentration in Community Health Education and Promotion (2007) from CSUSB, where I graduated with honors and received the Outstanding Student Award from the Health Science Department.
