Bio
Andrea Giuffre received her doctorate from the University of Missouri - St. Louis (UMSL) in Criminology & Criminal Justice. Prior to arriving at UMSL, she obtained her Master of Arts in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Victimology from Seattle University. Giuffre also holds Bachelor's degrees in Law, Societies & Justice and Philosophy from the University of Washington. Her work is situated at the nexus of criminal legal punishment and social inequalities. She uses mixed-methods to investigate the economic, relational, and community consequences of punishment, particularly monetary sanctions, community corrections, and incarceration. She is currently working on a project that explores how individuals on community supervision approach and perceive social support exchange. Her work has appeared in outlets such as Criminology, Criminology & Public Policy, Justice Quarterly, and The British Journal of Criminology.
