California State University, San Bernardino held its third annual campus-wide Alumni Hall of Fame on April 10, recognizing and celebrating alumni for their achievements. In addition to three university-wide awards, each college named its own “Paw Print” awardees.
The campus-wide honorees:
- Distinguished Alumni Award: Diana Z. Rodriguez ‘90 B.A., ‘94 MBA, ‘00 M.A.
Rodriguez is chancellor of the San Bernardino Community College District, serving more than 20,000 students and leading an enterprise that contributes more than $621 million annually to the regional economy. A first-generation college graduate, she has held senior leadership roles across California community colleges and is the only Latina community college chancellor in Southern California. - Coyote Spirit Award: Natalia Hale ‘09 B.A.
Hale is chief legal officer at Optima Family Services Inc. and a licensed attorney, with extensive experience in public service and family law. A CSUSB Presidential Academic Excellence Scholarship recipient, she co-founded the Optima Family Services Scholarship to support students, including DREAMers, and serves on the CSUSB Foundation Board. - Emerging Leader Award: Miranda B. Lee ‘24 M.S.
Lee is a senior learning designer at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, where she develops leadership programs across business, technology and creative teams. She is the founder of LX Labs and Modular Market and a two-time CSU Startup Competition winner. Lee is committed to expanding opportunities for women and underrepresented entrepreneurs.
The individual college Paw Prints awardees:
- College of Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration: Michael J. Bracken ‘92, ’99
Bracken is managing partner and chief economist of Development Management Group. He co-designed a CSUSB course on local economic development and has led economic initiatives throughout Southern California. A past CEO of the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership, he serves on the Community Valley Bank board and the CSUSB Athletics Advisory Board. - College of Natural Sciences: Adam Huttenlocker ’08
Huttenlocker is an associate professor at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, teaching clinical anatomy to medical and veterinary students, and an adjunct professor in the Division of Integrative Anatomical Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. In addition, he is affiliated with major natural history museums. His work has earned national awards and leadership roles in the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology. - College of Arts and Letters: Sapira Cheuk ’16
Cheuk is a Las Vegas-based ink painter and installation artist whose work explores embodied memory through Sumi painting traditions. Her art has been shown internationally and featured in leading publications. She teaches at the College of Southern Nevada and serves on the Las Vegas Arts Commission. - James R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education: Miki Inbody ‘90, ’97
Inbody is the superintendent of Fontana Unified School District, where she was once a student. A veteran educator and former administrator of the year, she was named a 2025 “Superintendent to Watch” and co-founded Excelencia Latina to support Latino student success in the Inland Empire. - College of Social and Behavioral Sciences: Laurena Bolden ’11
Bolden is a Tribal leader and cultural advocate with the Yuhaaviatam of the San Manuel Nation. She serves on state and university boards supporting Native cultural preservation and repatriation and established a CSUSB scholarship for psychology students. In 2023, she was appointed to the California Native American Heritage Commission.
“CSUSB’s Alumni Hall of Fame celebrates a remarkable group of accomplished individuals whose achievements reflect the very best of our university,” said CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales. “With more than 131,000 alumni – many making a lasting impact in the Inland Empire and beyond – their leadership and service continue to strengthen our communities. As mentors to current and future students, they demonstrate how a CSUSB education transforms lives and plays a vital role in the ongoing success of our campus.”
This campus-wide tradition was launched in February 2024 by the CSUSB Office of Alumni Relations. More than 300 guests attended the dinner and awards ceremony. The three inaugural university-wide award honorees included:
- Ellen Weisser ’68 (Distinguished Alumni Award): The award recognizes an achievement of noteworthy value, a series of such achievements, or a career or humanitarian effort of noteworthy accomplishment.
- Alberto Jasso ’15 (Emerging Leader Award): The award honors an individual who has made a positive impact in their community, industry or profession and has received their degree within the past 10 years.
- William “Bill” Stevenson ’84 (Coyote Spirit Award): The award honors an individual who has gone above and beyond to help advance the mission of CSUSB as a dedicated volunteer.
The 2024 Paw Print Awards were presented to Scott Keagy Smith ’91 (Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration), Tae-Wook Chun ’92 (College of Natural Sciences), Anthony Donatelli ’15 (College of Arts and Letters), Mary Jane McCoy ’67 (College of Social and Behavioral Sciences) and Juan Carlos Luna ’02, ’04, ’06 (James R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education).
Three university-wide awards were presented in 2025. Dr. Appannagari “Dev” GnanaDev, who earned his MBA from CSUSB in 2001, received the Distinguished Alumni Award. Mirna Orihuela, a 2014 graduate, was honored with the Emerging Leader Award. Roderick M. “Rod” Hendry, a double alumnus with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English, received the Coyote Spirit Award.
The 2025 Paw Print Awards included Lt. Col. Jeffrey S. Lehmkuhl ’05 (Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration), Kathleen E. Elison ’12 (College of Natural Sciences), ValLimar Jansen ’90 (College of Arts and Letters), Mauricio V. Arellano ’96 (James R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education) and Wayne M. Harp ’72 (College of Social and Behavioral Sciences).
