National Biomechanics Day
April 8, 2026
8:00am - 5:00pm
HS-Lobby, HS-Patio
Participants will be performing a vertical jump task with their vertical jump height being measured using our jump mat. The jump task will consist of the participant starting on the jump mat, then jumping as high as they possibly can, and landing with both feet on the mat. It is a very simple, low risk movement that does not require much physical exertion. This is a fundraiser event for our student club PDC Kinesiology Student Association. Each participant (student, staff, and/or faculty) will allowed one free jump where they will have their vertical jump height measured with our jump mat. If they choose, they can jump as many more times as they like, but it will cost $1 per jump. The same jump mat will be used for calculating jump height for every jump. In addition to our fundraiser, this event will be an outreach event to raise awareness to the field of biomechanics.
