
After an injury cut short his dream to be a Major League Baseball player, Gordon Amerson found fulfillment in a career in education. CSUSB, he says, “was foundational to my success.”

Reneisha S. Wilkes, coordinator of the Renaissance Scholars Program at CSUSB, has appeared on the show 10 times over the years to talk about her community service efforts. She appeared as one of “The Lucky 13.” The show aired on May 25; the segment with Wilkes can be viewed online.

The Den Food Pantry will take on a new look and new name – the Obershaw DEN Food Pantry – at a ribbon-cutting ceremony 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, thanks to the generosity of Charles and Shelby Obershaw.

The ceremony, held in the courtyard of the university’s Faculty Office Building, celebrated the new Obershaw DEN Food Pantry and recognized the Obershaws, longtime friends and donors of the university.
