
The annual Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cybersecurity Community Symposium, hosted by CSUSB’s Cybersecurity Center, on April 16-17 in Louisville, Ky., was attended by over 400 universities and colleges.

Lisa Davenport, Outstanding Doctoral Student, and Romina “Mina” Wilson, Outstanding Graduate Student, are the top graduates for the James R. Watson & Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education.

The fellowship is geared toward students who wish to pursue a career in journalism and provides a $7,000 award. Applicants must be enrolled in either the MA in English and writing studies program or the MA in communication studies program, the latter of which is still accepting applications.

Rigaud Joseph (social work) was interviewed for an article about charities that accept furniture donations for those in need, Meredith Conroy (political science) participated on a 538 live blog following the Maryland primary election, and Brian Levin (criminal justice, emeritus) was asked to comment on the case of a man charged with federal hate crimes who shot two Jewish men in 2023.

Negin Ghaffari, the Outstanding Graduate Student, and Natalya Marsh, the Outstanding Undergraduate Student, were recognized at the college’s Commencement exercises at 1:30 p.m. on May 17.

Olayinka Owoseni is the college’s Outstanding Graduate Student, while Sade Harper is the Outstanding Undergraduate Student. They were honored at the college’s Spring Commencement ceremony on May 18 at the Toyota Arena in Ontario.

Sarah Garcia, Sarah LaGioia, Ramtin Ranjpour and Luisa Rosa Notarangelo Lange were named the College of Arts and Letters’ outstanding students. This year, four students, two graduate and two undergraduate, were honored at the college’s Spring Commencement ceremony on May 18 at the Toyota Arena in Ontario.

Beyza Aktepe, a nutrition science major, is the college’s Outstanding Graduate Student and David Murillo, a chemistry major, is the Outstanding Undergraduate Student. They were honored at the College of Natural Science’s Spring Commencement ceremony on May 18 at the Toyota Arena in Ontario.

CSUSB alumnus Jose Hernandez shares the positive impact Cal State San Bernardino has had on his career and credits the university for playing an instrumental role in his successful business, Tacos Y Más, which has expanded to four other locations in the Inland Empire.

Geoffrey Demke, who lives in Indio, received a bachelor of arts degree in history at this year’s CSUSB College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Commencement ceremony, which took place on May 17 at the Toyota Arena in Ontario.

CSUSB student Annabella Garcia earned first place in the undergraduate Behavioral, Social Sciences and Public Administration category at the California State University Student Research Competition.

The Kids Discover Egypt Workshop will return to CSUSB’s Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art (RAFFMA) over two three-day sessions: the first from July 16-18 and the second from July 23-25. The workshop will offer an immersive and educational exploration into the wonders of ancient Egypt and is designed for children ages 6-13 years.
