Sam Buenrostro, superintendent of the Corona-Norco Unified School District, was honored by the University of La Verne’s LaFetra College of Education as one of three of its inaugural Distinguished Education Doctoral Alumni. Buenrostro earned a doctorate in education from LaFetra in 2012.

On Sept. 28 at the Alumni Center, Cal State San Bernardino hosted the New & Newly Promoted and/or Tenured Faculty Brunch, bringing together faculty and administrators to celebrate newly hired, tenured and promoted faculty members.

Marc Robinson, who was promoted to associate professor of history and earned tenure, will be honored at the Black Faculty Promotion Celebration on Oct. 11.

The national application process for CSUSB’s forthcoming Master of Science in Physician Assistant is now open and runs through Dec. 1. Pending successful accreditation, the first cohort is currently set to be welcomed in August 2025 to begin studying in state-of-the-art facilities on the San Bernardino campus.

Zuoyue Wang, a professor of history from Cal Poly Pomona, will speak at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, and Sijia Yao, assistant professor of Chinese language and culture at Soka University, will share her presentation at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct 17. Both will take place in person in the Faculty Excellence Center on the fourth floor of the John M. Pfau Library and on Zoom.
