As the start of the fall semester approaches, Cal State San Bernardino is inviting incoming first-year and transfer students to kick off their college experience at Coyote Launchpad, a full-day event designed to help them feel connected, confident and prepared for their first day of classes.

Hosted by CSUSB's Division of Student Affairs, Coyote Launchpad will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 13, transforming the campus into an interactive welcome experience where students can begin building friendships, connect with faculty and discover the many opportunities available to them as members of the Coyote community.

Part of the university's Coyote Jumpstart programming, the event gives students an early opportunity to familiarize themselves with campus while learning about the academic, personal and professional experiences that will shape their time at CSUSB.

Throughout the day, students will participate in rotating sessions highlighting many of the university's high-impact learning opportunities, including undergraduate research, study abroad, community-engaged learning, career development and internships. These experiences are designed to help students realize their talents while exploring the many ways they can enrich their education both inside and outside the classroom.

A networking lunch with faculty will give students the chance to ask questions, make meaningful connections and begin building relationships with the professors who will support their academic success. Students will also have the opportunity to locate their classrooms before the semester begins, helping them feel more comfortable navigating campus on their first day.

The program also includes candid roundtable discussions with current CSUSB students, who will share their experiences, offer advice and answer questions about college life. The day concludes with community mixers, giving new students another opportunity to meet classmates, expand their network and begin building lasting friendships.

In addition to the day's activities, participants will have opportunities to win prizes through event drawings.
