Cal State San Bernardino will mark Women’s History Month this March with a wide range of events that celebrate the achievements, leadership and lived experiences of women while fostering dialogue, learning and community. Students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to participate in programs throughout the month designed to highlight women’s contributions across cultures, disciplines and generations.
Hosted by campus centers, student organizations and university departments, this year’s programming reflects CSUSB’s commitment to equity, empowerment and community engagement. Events will explore topics including leadership, wellness, advocacy, cultural identity and personal growth, while also providing opportunities for networking, storytelling and hands-on learning.
The upcoming Women’s History Month events include:
March 5 – Girls Just Wanna Watch Movies: DSA Women’s Herstory Month Movie Night
Time: 4:30–7:30 p.m.
Location: Santos Manuel Student Union (SMSU) South Theater
To celebrate Women’s History Month, the Vice President’s Office for Student Affairs will host a collaborative movie night featuring a screening of “The Devil Wears Prada.” The event is designed to create an empowering and inclusive space for students to honor women’s achievements, promote gender equity and connect with campus resources that support women’s success. Representatives from the Women’s Resource Center will be available to share information about programs and services, and light refreshments will be provided.
March 10 – International Women’s Day Dinner
Time: 5:30 p.m.–7 p.m.
Location: SMSU North Conference Center, Rooms 2208–2209
This brunch celebration will honor International Women’s Day by centering conversations around liberation, justice and indigeneity. A panel of diverse women will share their knowledge and experiences in a space designed to foster reflection, dialogue and care.
March 11 – Wellness Wednesday: Black Women’s Health
Time: 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m.
Location: SMSU South Fourplex
This event highlights the importance of Black women’s health while raising awareness of campus and community resources. The program will include networking opportunities, a discussion of Black women’s historical contributions to health and wellness, and a panel of professionals exploring current health issues and career pathways for students interested in health-related fields. Refreshments will be provided. Registration is required.
March 16 – Choosing You: Student Mom Self-Care
Time: Noon–2 p.m.
Location: SMSU South Fourplex
Student mothers are invited to gather for a supportive conversation focused on balancing parenthood, education and personal goals. Participants will share experiences, reflect on the importance of self-care and explore activities designed to reconnect with personal aspirations.
March 17 – Bridging the Parts of Her/HERitage & HERstory
Time: Noon–2 p.m.
Location: SMSU North Conference Center, Room A
This banquet-style community event celebrates Women’s History Month while also recognizing the transition into APIDA Heritage Month. Keynote speaker, Stacey Diane A. Litam, a nationally recognized scholar and advocate, will explore how race, gender, culture and identity intersect within APIDA communities. The program will encourage dialogue, cultural sharing and reflection while highlighting the diverse experiences of women and strengthening connections across campus and community.
March 18 – Black Women & Leadership
Time: 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m.
Location: Faculty Center for Excellence, John M. Pfau Library
Students, faculty, staff and alumni will gather to discuss leadership and celebrate the accomplishments of Black women within the CSUSB community. The event aims to foster mentorship opportunities, recognize those who support student success and create a welcoming space for connection and conversation.
March 19 – Mechanics Workshop
Time: 1–3 p.m.
Location: Alumni Center Amphitheater
Hosted by the Women’s Resource Center, this workshop will introduce participants to the basics of car maintenance. Attendees will learn common automotive terminology and observe demonstrations of general mechanical procedures, helping build confidence and practical knowledge.
March 20 – ACE Women’s Network of Southern California Leadership Lunch and Learn (Event is Sold Out)
This year’s ACE Women’s Network of Southern California event will celebrate women who are redefining leadership and building pathways that reflect their values and vision. Leaders from the University of California, California State University and California Community Colleges systems will share insights on authentic leadership and professional growth.
March 23 – Lead with the WRC
Time: 1–2:30 p.m.
Location: To be announced
Open to all CSUSB students, Lead with the WRC offers a space to develop leadership skills while exploring topics related to self-advocacy, allyship and leadership in action.
March 24 – “Las Monarcas” Documentary Screening
Time: 6–8:30 p.m.
Location: SMSU North Conference Center
The Latinx Resource Center will host a screening of “Las Monarcas de Pomona,” a documentary that highlights a group of women whose community organizing work centers healing and collective empowerment. The event will include a panel discussion and Q&A with the student filmmakers and several of the women featured in the film.
