CSUSB’s College of Natural Sciences (CNS) welcomed approximately 500 K-6 students, teachers, administrators and parents from five Inland Empire schools to its fall CNS Science Carnival — a day dedicated to curiosity, discovery and hands-on learning.

Hosted in partnership with the Division of Student Affairs, Services to Students with Disabilities, and the James R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education, the event featured interactive exhibits, live science demonstrations, and hands-on experiments led by CSUSB faculty, staff and students.

From simulated earthquakes and fossil discoveries to exploring distant planets, the carnival invited young learners to see science in action and experience just how fun and accessible STEM can be. Students also enjoyed activities like examining insects, playing with slime, bowling, and even viewing the sun through a telescope.

The event provided an exciting opportunity for students to explore scientific concepts in a supportive, engaging environment designed to spark lifelong curiosity.

The CNS Science Carnival, held Oct. 24, was made possible through generous community support. CSUSB’s Office of Philanthropic Giving raised $10,000 in sponsorships, with additional support provided by the PATHS grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

Among those in attendance was CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales, who joined families and students in celebrating the spirit of discovery that defines the event. By connecting education, community, and hands-on learning, CSUSB continues to inspire the next generation of scientists, innovators and changemakers across the Inland Empire.
