California State University, San Bernardino has been named among 79 other universities in the West, according to The Princeton Review’s “2026 Best Regional Colleges” listing.
Including California, The Princeton Review’s West region encompasses Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
In its annual list, The Princeton Review named 630 colleges in seven zones – Northeast, South, Southwest, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, West and International (outside of the United States) – that it considers academically outstanding and well worth consideration in people’s college search.
On The Princeton Review’s webpage for the university, students say, “CSUSB offers a substantial number of majors, and students’ heap praise on the ‘well recognized business program,’ as well as the ‘tremendous’ criminal justice program and ‘great’ nursing school. Professors at CSUSB receive high marks. ‘Passionate’ and ‘knowledgeable,’ teachers here strive to ‘make sure the material is understood. ‘Students are also grateful for ‘the enthusiasm they bring to every lecture.’”
Inland Empire institutions included in the Best in the West are UC Riverside, Cal Poly Pomona, University of Redlands, Pitzer College, Pomona College, Scripps College, Claremont McKenna College, Harvey Mudd College and the University of La Verne.
