California State University, San Bernardino and NIMS University, India, have formalized a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to bolster academic cooperation and support internationalization efforts on their respective campuses. The MOU signifies a commitment to promoting engagement, educational research and collaboration among their constituents, including students, faculty, staff, departments and research institutes.

“This is a wonderful opportunity that will ultimately enrich the experiences of our students and the faculty and staff at both of our institutions,” said CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales. “We see this partnership as a catalyst for cultivating cross-cultural understanding and advancing academic excellence.”

Representatives from NIMS University and CSUSB officially signed the MOU on Dec. 6 during a collaborative session hosted on the CSUSB campus. The meeting, attended by delegates from higher education institutions across Southern California, served as a platform for meaningful dialogues on potential partnerships, highlighting the commitment of these institutions to nurturing international collaborations in education, research and innovation.

“In an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world, fostering global partnerships in academia is not merely a choice but a necessity,” said A. Rafik Mohamed, CSUSB provost and vice president for Academic Affairs. “International collaborations offer a multitude of benefits, ranging from exposure to diverse cultures, ideas, and perspectives to addressing global challenges.”

NIMS University and CSUSB are members of the International Association of University Presidents, an association of higher education leaders worldwide, striving to advance global awareness, competencies and international understanding through education.
