Nearly 70 Cal State San Bernardino alumni and students attended an inaugural job and career event held by Amazon featuring a panel session with company staff and a networking session hosted by CSUSB Alumni.

Students and alumni gather at a career night with the CSUSB Alumni and Amazon.

The event, held at Santos Manuel Student Union East on Oct. 17, stems from a new partnership the California State University has with Amazon in the company’s efforts to hire CSU alumni and students. CSUSB was chosen as the site for the inaugural event.

“We are delighted to be working with Amazon as an outstanding opportunity to help our alumni and students in their career aspirations,” said Crystal Wymer-Lucero, director of CSUSB Alumni Relations. “I’d like to thank our alumna, Amy Johnson, accounting ’97, who works in operations finance in North American Customer Fulfillment at Amazon for spearheading this great project.”

During the panel session various members of the Amazon financial team gave a brief overview of their background, talked about their progression through Amazon and gave an overview of their current business unit at Amazon.

Following the panel session, a networking session was held where the panelists answered questions and members of the Amazon recruiting team talked careers at Amazon.
