Arianna Huhn, a sociocultural anthropologist at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) and director of the CSUSB Anthropology Museum, was interviewed for Breanna Reeves’s column on the writer’s Afrolatine heritage. The museum is preparing for an upcoming exhibit next year that will highlight the Afrolatine culture and communities across Southern California and Mexico.

Brian Levin, director of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at the California State University, San Bernardino, was quoted in an article about the impact of the congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Commenting on how the hearings may affect extremist groups, Levin compares the impact on these groups to mercury being hit by a hammer. “It’s consistency changes but not the toxins,” he says.


CSUSB professor part of speaker lineup for Optima Conference

Guillermo Escalante, associate professor of kinesiology and dean fellow for the College of Natural Sciences at California State University, San Bernardino, was one of the speakers at the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) annual Optima Conference, which took place virtually Oct. 12-13. Escalante is the lead subject matter expert for NASM’s Physique and Bodybuilding Coach Program, as well as an associate editor of the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition.
