Coinciding with the annual Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving, Cal State San Bernardino is once again hosting its own campaign, now through Tuesday, Dec. 1, to raise funds for student scholarships.

All members of the campus community – alumni, parents, faculty, staff and students – are encouraged to donate and make a difference.

CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales will match donations — dollar for dollar up to $10,000 – as long as the donation is submitted before midnight on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Recipients of the #GivingTuesdayCSUSB scholarship are among the top students in their classes, breaking through barriers while continuing to help others through outstanding community service. The goal this year is to raise enough funds to provide 50 students with $1,000 scholarships.

Last year, CSUSB raised more than $50,000 from generous donors, providing 50 students with a $1,000 scholarship this fall. Scholarships were awarded to students that are among the top in their classes, breaking through barriers while continuing to help others through outstanding community service.

Giving Tuesday, which is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States, is to inspire people to work together in improving their local communities and give back in meaningful ways to the charities and causes they support.

Donations are now being accepted. To make a donation, visit the CSUSB Giving Tuesday website, or text “CSUSB” to “71777.
